Dr Chin Yong
Dr Chin Yong is a certified Urogynaecologist and Female Pelvic Floor Reconstruction Surgeon based in Melbourne. Dr Yong has a special interest in minimal access surgery and offers various advanced laparoscopic and robotic pelvic floor reconstruction options to his patients.
Dr Yong completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Auckland as well as his specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology soon after. Following this in 2016, he joined the Royal Women’s Hospital Pelvic Floor Unit and completed his three-year subspecialty training in Urogynecology. Apart from clinical appointments, Dr Yong is actively involved in clinical education and research projects focusing on conservative management and native tissue surgical correction for pelvic organ prolapse. He is also a member of the multidisciplinary Pelvic Pain Service at Frances Perry House.
Dr Yong’s special interests include: Pelvic organ prolapse, Stress urinary incontinence, Overactive bladder, Pelvic mesh complications, Bladder pain/interstitial cystitis
Chin has a passion for women’s health and wishes to raise awareness of pelvic floor issues. He always develops individual and holistic treatment plans to improve the quality of life of his patients and frequently collaborates with his multidisciplinary team consisting of pelvic floor physiotherapists and continence nurse specialists, focusing on the conservative management of pelvic floor disorders.
